Privacy Policy

What we collect
Subscribers: your email address, the mark text and classes you choose to watch, and subscription status from our payment processor. Free-check users: the text you submit for checking and a coarse rate-limiting record tied to your IP address, retained briefly. Operational logs: standard request logs and product events, used to run and improve the Service.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We don't use your watched marks for anything except running your alerts. Running a free check by itself never adds you to any mailing list.
Email you receive, and how to stop it
Only if you ask. You receive email from us in two situations: you submitted your address at the free check (to get your result plus a short introduction to the Service), or you are a paying subscriber.
If you submitted your address at the free check: we send your result and a brief introductory sequence — a handful of emails over roughly a week — explaining how trademark monitoring works and what MarkAlarm does. Every one of these carries a one-click unsubscribe link and an unsubscribe header your mail app can act on. Unsubscribing stops all marketing email immediately and permanently.
If you are a subscriber: you receive the service emails you signed up for (filing alerts, deadline reminders, and periodic monitoring summaries) plus occasional account and product notices. Service emails are not marketing and continue while your subscription is active; you can end them by cancelling or by emailing support@getmarkalarm.com.
Marketing and service email are sent from separate addresses so that opting out of one never silences the other.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details — Stripe handles them directly, and their privacy policy governs that data.
Advertising measurement
When we run advertising, our home page loads Meta's advertising pixel so we can measure which ads bring people who actually use the free check. It records that a page view, a free check, or a checkout click happened — never the mark text you type, and never your email address. If we are not running ads, the script is not loaded at all. You can limit this with your browser's tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Meta's own ad-preference settings.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare (hosting, storage), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), and — while advertising is running — Meta (ad measurement). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Retention and deletion
Watched marks and account data persist while your subscription is active. Email support@getmarkalarm.com from your subscription address to delete your account and associated data; we complete deletion within 30 days. Public USPTO filing data is not personal data and is retained on a rolling window for the free-check feature.
